Lyric Video - youtu.be/o7d9zQScrlI

I originally wrote this song as a TikTok Duet based on a drum beat I found posted by Megan "Whiplash" Mullins.

Usually, duets are kinda just "throw away" ideas, but I really liked the way this one came out; however, I never would've written it if it wasn't for Megan's drum beat, and I thought it would be inconsiderate to work on the song without asking if she'd want any involvement.

To be honest, I was expecting her not to be interested, in which case, I would've asked for permission to work on it myself, but to my surprise, she was down for it!

We discussed the song arrangement together, and when the time came, she recorded the drums and I recorded everything else. I'm not used to mixing real drums, so that took a little longer than I would've liked, but we're both pleased with the end result.

The song is about taking moments to realize how far you've come in life and letting that progress motivate you to "move on" and overcome whatever obstacle you're currently facing.

lyrics

Verse:
So obsessed
You're blind to your progress

Chorus:
See how far you've come; stay strong
You can move on; so move on
See how far you've come; stay strong
You can move on; so move on

Verse:
Taste and see
This bitter memory
You once were so weak
But now you've been set free

Chorus:
See how far you've come; stay strong
You can move on; so move on
See how far you've come; stay strong
You can move on; so move on

Bridge:
(So move on)
When you find yourself at the end of your rope
You know it's not over
When you find yourself at the end of your rope
You know it's not over
You've been down this road more than once before
And it won't stop you this time
No

Chorus:
See how far you've come; stay strong
You can move on; so move on
See how far you've come; stay strong
You can move on
